BLUE was an unusual call for submissions in that we were interested in any and all photographs that explore
the concept of blue. The response was overwhelming! Work was submitted by 167 photographers, who sent a total of 841
photos for our juror's consideration. Because of the remarkable quantity and quality of images submitted,
we have decided to divide our exhibition into two components.
Aline Smithson chose forty photographs for
exhibition on the walls of PhotoPlace Gallery and in our on-line gallery. Then, she chose an additional group to be
included in our first-ever "PhotoPlace On-Line Annex," to be viewed on our website alone. All of the
accepted photographs will be reproduced (with photographers' permission) in a full color exhibition catalogue that
will be available for purchase from Blurb Books or at the gallery.

who submitted work for consideration. And our enormous thanks to our juror, Aline Smithson, who rose to the challenge
by selecting a terrific group of photographs to illustrate the theme of BLUE.
Exhibition
dates: Dec. 8th through Jan. 9th. Artists Reception: Dec. 11th, 5-7 pm. To help defray artists' expenses,
we provide free matting and framing of accepted photographs for the duration of our exhibitions, providing they are sized
