Submission Instructions

Photos may be submitted along with the completed application form via e-mail. CD submissions may be mailed, but must be received by the submission deadline. CDs should include jpg files and the application form.

Digital Files:
We only accept digital files. All digital images should be provided as jpgs only, 72 ppi, image width not to exceed 1024 pixels on the longest side. For best display, save as sRGB files. Files should be titled as follows: LastName_FirstName_1Title.jpg The number should correspond with the number on the application form. Please do not use non-alpha-numeric characters such as & * ( @ etc. in your title. Photographs accepted for other PhotoPlace exhibitions are not eligible for re-submission for one year from the opening date of the exhibition.

E-mail digital files and application form to photos@vtphotoworkplace.com or mail CD (not DVD) with jpg files and application form on CD to: PhotoPlace Gallery, 3 Park Street, Middlebury, VT 05753. CDs must be received by the submission deadline.

Submission Fee:
Non-refundable $25 for the first 5 prints or digital images, $6 for each additional image. Credit card or PayPal payments may be made using the PayPal link at the bottom of the application form. Checks may be made payable to PhotoPlace Gallery, and mailed to : PhotoPlace Gallery, 3 Park Street, Middlebury, VT 05753. Applicants must be 18 or over. We accept international applications.

Acceptance Notification:

Artists will be notified of accepted work via e-mail by approximately three weeks after the deadline. All accepted exhibition prints should be on paper. Exhibitors who wish to use our free matting and framing option should size prints for one of our pre-cut mat sizes. Prints sent framed should be no larger than 16 x 20 unless another format is approved by the Gallery. Jurors accept 40 photographs for display at PhotoPlace Gallery, as well as an additional 35 photos for display in our Online Annex on this website. All 75 photographs are eligible for inclusion in a full color exhibition catalogue available for purchase from Blurb Books.

Sales:

Artists exhibiting at the gallery may offer their work for sale. PhotoPlace retains 40% of the sale price.

Use Rights:

Artists retain full rights to their work. PhotoPlace Gallery requests use of accepted images for the purpose of marketing the exhibition and subsequent display as thumbnails on the VPW's website.
